This instrument uses the vacuum method to measure the theoretical maximum relative density of asphalt mixture at 25°C.
The determination of the theoretical maximum relative density of asphalt mixture can provide basic data for the calculation of void ratio and compaction degree in asphalt mixture design, road condition investigation or pavement construction quality management. Therefore, whether the theoretical maximum relative density detection value of asphalt mixture directly affects the quality management and control of pavement construction.
The maximum relative density of the asphalt mixture refers to the ratio of the mass of the specimen per unit volume to the mass of water at the same temperature under the ideal state that the asphalt mixture is compacted and formed without voids.
This instrument is composed of frame, vacuum pump, vibrator, vacuum regulating valve, vacuum gauge, pressure gauge, water storage device, vacuum container and control electrical appliances. It has a reasonable structure and is easy to use. It can conduct parallel tests on two samples.
