The rock point load test is to place the specimen between the upper and lower two spherical ends (conical) loader, and the manual oil pump pressurizes the specimen to apply a concentrated load until the specimen is damaged, according to which the rock point load strength index and anisotropy index are obtained. It is suitable for all kinds of rocks (except extremely soft rocks), and can provide a basis for rock classification and calculation of rock compressive strength parameters according to formulas.
