This instrument uses a capillary viscometer to determine the kinematic viscosity of viscous petroleum bitumen, liquid petroleum bitumen and their residues after distillation. The test temperature was 135°C (viscous petroleum bitumen) and 60°C (liquid petroleum bitumen). The time for liquid petroleum products to flow through a calibrated glass capillary viscometer at a constant temperature is determined, and the product of the capillary constant and the flow time is the kinematic viscosity of the liquid at this temperature. Its unit is mm2/s.
