The soil non-nuclear gauge is a non-nuclear measuring instrument that can replace the nuclear density meter and measure the physical properties of the subgrade and ground compaction soil. It is a battery-powered, portable instrument that can be used anywhere in the world without involving nuclear safety issues. Dry/wet density, moisture content, and percent compaction can be measured and displayed. Easy to use, it can be used as a building auxiliary equipment to monitor the daily compaction operation. Its excellent work performance and accurate measurement results can be comparable to traditional measurement methods such as nuclear density measurement method, sand filling method and drying method.
Working principle
The EDG measures the dielectric properties and density of compacted soil material by the radio high frequency between the electrodes and compares the measured dielectric properties with the "soil module". The "soil module" is a specific type of soil type. It has a set of pre-measured specific dielectrics. This set of dielectrics represents a series of density values and humidity values. After field measurements are completed, the dry/wet density, water content, and percent compaction are calculated using mathematical algorithms. The attached temperature sensor can also increase the accuracy of the measurement.
